Coach of the Year and Eight Land on All-Conference First Team

St. Cloud State head football Coach Scott Underwood has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Coach of the Year and 22 players landed All-Conference honors on the 2011 Team including eight first team selections.

Seniors Matt Theis and Tony Kubes were named All-Conference for the third time in their careers.

 
Theis, a right tackle is a first team selection in 2011 and 2009 and was a second team player in 2010. A defensive back, Tony Kubes is a 2011 and 2010 first team pick and a 2009 second team selection.

In his fourth season with the Huskies head coach Scott Underwood has led St. Cloud State to back to back NCAA football playoff appearances. In addition the 2011 Huskies tied for both the overall and North Division NSIC Championship.

Huskies Made the Playoffs

#13/#15 St. Cloud State University won a share of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) football title with a 47-14 win over Minnesota State University Moorhead Saturday afternoon at Husky Stadium.


The #3 seed in Super Region 3, the Huskies will host the #6 seed Wayne State University of Michigan on Saturday, Nov. 19.  

The win extended St. Cloud State's home win streak to 15 games and marks the fourth straight winning season for the Huskies, all under head coach Scott Underwood.

Gridiron Luncheon

The Husky Football Gridiron Club will host a luncheon on Friday, Oct. 28 at RJ's American Grill at 11:30 a.m.
The public is invited as St. Cloud State football coach Scott Underwood and his coaching staff preview Saturday's game against defending national champion and league co-leader Minnesota Duluth.

The Huskies beat UMD

The 11th-ranked St. Cloud State Huskies, in front of a record 5,158 fans, extended their home win streak to 14 games with a 35-7 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory over sixth-ranked University of Minnesota Duluth Saturday afternoon at Husky Stadium.

Change that Dial

Change your radio dial for this coming game. The SCSU broadcast will be on Lite 99.9  KCML this Saturday with JW Cox calling the game.

The rivalry with Southwest Minnesota State dates back to the 1970 season with the Huskies leading the all-time series 14-1.

Big win for the Huskies

Huskies Retain the Traveling Training Kit with 31-13 Win Over Minnesota State this past Saturday afternoon. The 17th ranked Huskies are 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the NSIC. The Mavericks are 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the NSIC. St. Cloud State will travel to Southwest Minnesota State University next Saturday for a 6:00 p.m. game.

Huskie Luncheon

The St. Cloud State Husky Football Gridiron Club is hosting a luncheon on Friday, Oct. 7. The luncheon is at RJ's American Grill, 4221 Clearwater Road, St. Cloud and begins at 11:30.

St. Cloud State head coach Scott Underwood and his staff will talk Husky football and preview Saturday's game against Minnesota State University, Mankato.

This weeks game

Don't forget that this weekend is a Celebrate! St Cloud weekend. The Huskies play against
Northern State (South Dakota) at Huskey Stadium 4pm. SCSU leads the all-time series against Northern State University 12-1 and has won 11 straight game over the Wolves. 

 The only SCSU loss was during the 1947 season, 14-6. The series began in 1946 with a 24-0 Husky win. Last year the Huskies won 42-10 in Aberdeen.  

The Huskies are 15-2 at home since the start of the 2008 season. St. Cloud State is 1-1 in NCAA playoff games at Husky stadium losing to the University of North Dakota in the 2004 first round, 20-17 in two overtimes and winning winning 42-28 Nov. 20, 2010 against Hillsdale College.

Free Football Clinic

The huskies are hosting a free football clinic on Saturday Oct. 8 2011. the clinic will be held at Husky Stadium. The clinic is open to boys and girls from k-8. Registration for the clinic is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8. Clinic runs from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The first 200  to register will receive a free t-shirt. Other things include Husky football player autographs, photo opportunities with St. Cloud State mascot Blizzard and a complimentary ticket to a 2011 SCSU home football game.

This Saturday's game vs Winona State

This Sat. the Huskies travel to Winona State, the Warriors are 1-1 a home loss against Michigan Tech and and a win at MSU Moorhead. According to stats Winona has a decent ground game but seems to have a problem with penalties.

The Huskies beat Concordia

With the Huskies win vs Concordia University, SCSU demolished the Bears eight wins in a row on the road. This win marks the first 2-0 start since 2007 and their first 11 straight home game win since 2009.
